you mean this link  $40

https://www.gobilda.com/5202-series-yellow-jacket-planetary-gear-motor-188-1-ratio-30-rpm-3-3-5v-encoder/

controller  $90

https://www.gobilda.com/roboclaw-2x15a-motor-controller/

optical disc programmer  $10

now this looks like a serious servo motor (w optical encoder).  I wonder how that stacks up against a stepper motor below

Series 2000 appears to be their stepper motor system

https://www.gobilda.com/servo-programmer-for-2000-series-dual-mode-servo/

https://www.gobilda.com/2000-series-dual-mode-servo-25-2/

quote

In the default mode, the servo is able to rotate 300 degrees while having positioning feedback. In this mode, the PWM signal will determine the position of the servo.

does this mean "cooked up on a kitchen table"   ;-}

Anyone got experience on using one of their complete systems

ie a servo motor/encoder with control board and programmer ?  Has it been used in closed loop PID system
