Hi all,

my name is John and I live in Germany.Β  I am a data scientist by profession.Β  When I find time I try to realise one of my many ideas with electronics.Β  Unfortunately I don't find time often, and even less often do my projects reach a state where they are useful πŸ™‚ I have ordered components many times and they end up lying around a lot.Β  That's demotivating but I have a feeling I am probably not alone with this fate.

Much (if not most) of my knowledge comes from @dronebot-workshop 's articles and videos, and I thought it is time I join the forums here.Β  I'm currently working on a small gardening automation and if I succeed I would like to share my experience here.

Due to my profession I am very interested in machine learning applications with microcontrollers.Β  I have a couple of ideas which involve body movement and IMUs.

Looking forward to forum activity

John

@resistor, Welcome to the forum John...I'm sure you'll find many on here helpful, and enlightened by your experience with computers and data science.. I'm a hardware person, with some experience with software in Industrial process control and automation.. but the hardware and software for that is very different than what most on this forum are use to, and would have experience with. I'm still learning the new breed of MPC (micro processor controllers, and the software that is used to program them..ie C++, Python, and Java script.

regards,

LouisR

@resistor

Welcome to the forum John!

As @inst-tech implied there are many members on here with wide and varied experience in both electronics and programming.Β

I too am relearning electronics thru @dronebot-workshop videos (and other sources) as my initial electronics training was "many moons ago" back in the dawn of the digital era. A lot has changed! Although I have some formal training (i.e. university level) on the software side, I am by no means an expert! My current interests are all things related to A.I.

Glad to have you with us John, enjoy!!
