Old Geezer still Hacking

I am probably one of the oldest new members here being 75 years old. My first microprocessor build was an Intel 8080 system way back in the 1970s with a 1K monitor program hand coded in assembler. After graduating from Nottingham University in 1973 I worked in the aerospace industry designing some of the first automatic test equipment (built with TTL on wire wrapped boards) and later on an 8 layer PCB for the Sea Eagle missile. I then worked in the professional audio industry designing mixers for the pop stars of the day including The Who and The Kinks and finally found my way into technology consulting where I spent the rest of my career designing microcontroller based products including the Dragon 32 home computer and several Dymo label printers. I was lucky enough to be able to afford to retire at the age of 50 and the last 25 years I have spent tinkering in my workshop and building professional audio equipment based on vacuum tubes including complete audio mixers which are now working in studios all over the world. But I still keep my hand in with microcontroller development and I am absolutely astounded by the enormous clock speeds and vast quantities of ROM and RAM available in today's dirt cheap devices. Right now I am working on a hand held microcontroller based audio tester that can create high quality audio test signals and make accurate measurements. I am particularly interested in MicroPython as a rapid development tool.
