Hello everyone,
Here is a little bit about myself:
I am 60 years old. I have been fascinated by robots for as long as I can remember. The movie Forbidden Planet with Robby the Robot is what got me hooked initially and also the B9 Robot from the 1960's Lost in Space TV Series.
I am an Instrument and Electrical Technician at a Biomass Power Plant in Virginia. I have been working in this field for 35 years now.
I have built several small robots in the past. I am now wanting to get back into building robots and was having trouble keeping up with all the new technology out there. I am anxious to learn new things and I am grateful to find this forum. I look forward to interacting with all of you.
Greets from a fellow new user and 60+ sort. I'm interested to learn what you discover - it's a whole new world in the realm of low(ish) cost electro-mechanical, it seems. 🙂
I edit my posts to fix typos, correct grammar, or improve clarity. On-screen keyboards are evil.
There are a few others on the forum interested in robotics. It was Bill's desire to build a "real" robot that piqued my interest in joining the forum. You might like to post details about your small past robots in the Other Robot Projects section of the forum?
@binaryrhyme ... yeah wish we had all these technological goodies back when we were starting out. I still like to build digital circuits on my solder-less breadboard. I still have a copy of the original Radio Shack Engineers Notebook by Forrest Mims published back in the 80's. Think I have built every circuit in there at least once LOL and many variations of them too.
I will take a look and try to get some pictures and details in there.
Welcome All
Perhaps you would like to take on a TRIOctaped? See my post "Novel walking robot".
Cheers

Yes! I found your post on that and was blown away at how it works. I have never seen anything quite like it. I hope to see you make further progress on this bot.
