My name is Tom but, I use my last name & first initial everywhere, thus , MulyCat
Having retired from the IT business, I still keep my hand in it by managing a database for my HS alumni association where I use Joomla and PHP to create specialized, data driven pages of members, donors, etc.
Over the past several years, I have had the time to explore the Arduino, the Raspberry Pi, and now the ESP8266 and ESP32. I like to use the Internet to combine their capabilities in various ways to perform something useful. For instance, I recently used an ESP to post temps on a boat to keep the owner informed if the temp gets too low (freezing) or high (humidity). Data goes to a page on my web site and gets stored using SleekDB. He loves it.
I'm forever trying new ways of coding. Using published API's like Twilio and OpenWeathermap grab my interest. Sometimes I get hooked on one little problem and it consumes me. Ever have that feeling?
I'm looking forward to see what the rest of the world is doing with these ever expanding opportunities being made available to us through the wonders of the Internet.
