Hi all,

Lance here from South Africa. (34, oh, 44 now, M)
I take interest in... well, just about everything outside of politics. At the moment I need to brush up m skills in microcontrollers and electronics, so many questions, expect many. I'll also help if I am able to.

This is me... (about 1.5 years ago)

Me 800

@irbotfa

G'day from Australia. Welcome to the forum we need a few younger members.

I think your photo has been flipped horizontally?

"A braai is a foundational South African social tradition—similar to a barbecue, but using wood or charcoal rather than gas—where friends gather to socialize while the "Braaimaster" cooks food, primarily meat, over hot coals. It is more than just cooking; it is a cultural ritual for gathering, typically involving, "chops, dop, and pop" (meat, drinks, and snacks)."

@robotbuilder haha, yes, the part of the picture that is cut off actually does say "Master." Though this is a title that is earned, not simply self-proclaimed. Dop and chop... Unfortunately the "dop" part tried to kill me, so now it's only "chop." (in recovery...)

I'll hop on the forum after some sleep and post my first question. I have a couple.

Thanks for the stunning work you put into this community.

Hi Lance, welcome to the forum!

Great to have someone from South Africa here—love that you’re brushing up on microcontrollers and electronics. Feel free to ask as many questions as you want, that’s what we’re here for.

Also, that braai description from robotBuilder sums up the vibe perfectly… bet you’ve got some proper braai stories to go with your robot projects 😂

Look forward to seeing your builds and all those questions you’ve got!

Yassin
