Hello fellow forum dwellers,

? Retroelectons2 is also my youtube channel name .

Just an old man, >70, still trying to learn electronics. USAF electronics tech circa 1967.

Now retired with time to mess about in my shop (hobby electronics).

recently built an RC2014 kit computer.   -failed to get it running yet and in over my head.--

Have Arduinos (3) , Pi Zero 1.3  and Ti thumb drive dev kit(2004).  Also retro C=64s and C=128s.

Timex/Sinclair  1000.

Bill, you have a very nice setup & Lab.  Look forward to all this good stuff.

Hi Retroelectons2 and welcome to the forum! So glad to have you aboard.

I tried searching for your channel but I couldn't find it - also searched "Retro Electrons" just in case I spelled it wrong.

Please feel free to leave a link to it so we can all take a look - if the post gets held for moderation I'll make sure it gets approved.

Do the Timex Sinclair and the C64 still work? Those were classic, had them both myself back in the '80s.

Again, welcome to the forum!

?

Bill

USAF 1966-1970 Teletype Maintenance

Also built a RC-2014 Z80 kit.  Pretty neat kit.  Mine is working and want to expand it.  Have a floppy disk board that has been waiting more than a year to get assembled.

codecage,

Well, hello from CryptoVille,   the other half, ;-).  Four years for me '67 -'71   SAC  HQ and  Okinawa.

It is also good to here your RC2014 is up and running.  MINE, as with kits things can go wrong.   Whats frustrating with mine is the there is no I/O , when every thing else seems to be running.  Still trying to trouble shoot it.

Confession :  I got in a hurry soldering it up.

I was on Okinawa Aug '68 to Jan '70!  I was the only 363 with a "R" clearance, so I spent a lot of time in the SSO.  When I got to Okinawa there were just two of us and he outranked me so guess who took care of call at night and weekends? He left before I did, but for the life of me I can't remember if another airman came in with a "R" clearance before I left.  Can't see that they wouldn't have anyone to cover the SSO.

Good old days for me too. 1 1/2 year of vacation for the most part.  We, wife and I, loved it. Made life long friends there.

One regret. Did not get my pilots license for $55.00 .  Too much money...   LOL.

Interested in your RC 2014 build.

Will make that a separate post. (Phone keyboard) 😉
