Hello all,

So a few weeks ago I decided I wanted to build a puzzle table for my family; something that can accommodate about a 1K piece puzzle. To do this, my plan was to veneer some thin sheets of maple to some mdf. After researching that for a bit, I thought the best way to affix the wood to the mdf was using a vacuum clamp. I don't have one of those and how else am I supposed to build a puzzle table? Now, if I wont just buy a puzzle table, I certainly wont just buy a ready made vacuum clamp, right? So, now I am building a vacuum clamp. As I started researching how to build one of those, I thought, "heck, I should automate this somehow." "This" being the vacuum pressure applied to the system. I am a software engineer by trade, so I'm always thinking about how to automate things. Anyway, so, now I am building a vacuum controller. I am not even going to look to see if someone makes a controller already. Where's the fun in that? So as I've kicked off this journey, I stumbled on to the DroneBot Youtube channel and was blown away by the quality of the content. Shortly after, I opened up the DroneBot website, again amazing! It's obvious that this place is a work love, not commercialism. We need more places like this in the world.

Anyway, that's sort of a long story, but I think it sums me up pretty well. This clip of Hal from Malcom in the Middle approximates my journey for building a puzzle table. 😀

Thanks for the great video post from Malcolm in the middle. I couldn't stop laughing. It sums up a lot of my days.
