Hi @olddamco1953 Steve,

Welcome to the forum. I am sure many of us on the forum remember how tough it is to get started, but persevere, it will get clearer and easier.

I suggest you start with finding a few examples on the web and just replicate them, to break the ice. Generally, you need to actually do it yourself to get the benefit ... just watching the video online is not as effective.

Our forum host Bill @dronebot-workshop has done several excellent video + blogs regarding stepper motors, including https://dronebotworkshop.com/stepper-motors-with-arduino/

If you get stuck, then by all means start a new thread in an appropriate section, remembering you are the only one who knows what you have done, so please describe as fully as possible, your situation and what the question is. If you following a particular web based article, then please include a precise reference, including which section.

Best wishes and good luck, Dave

Hi @olddamco1953 Steve,

Welcome to the forum Steve. As Dave @davee said, use Bill's (our host) video as a start, and then if it doesn't work start a new topic as Dave said so we can help you figure out what went wrong.

First computer 1959. Retired from my own computer company 2004.
Hardware - Expert in 1401, and 360, fairly knowledge in PC plus numerous MPU's and MCU's
Major Languages - Machine language, 360 Macro Assembler, Intel Assembler, PL/I and PL1, Pascal, Basic, C plus numerous job control and scripting languages.
Sure you can learn to be a programmer, it will take the same amount of time for me to learn to be a Doctor.
