Hello,
I'm here because I wanted to build a robot, and I saw the mecanum wheel robot project.
I'm an Electrical Engineer by education, but I've been writing embedded software for 30 years. My hardware skills are pretty rusty. I hope to learn from and hopefully contribute to the community!
@86Carrera, I imagine you would have a good head start since you write embedded software for a living.
Before your post, I wasn't familiar with the Mecanum wheel robot. I saw a video on YouTube just now, and I have to say it moves in a unique way. I had to watch the video a few times and I'm still scratching my head a little.

Greetings.
I'm like you, an EE that spent a career writing software and is now returning to electronics.
If you're anything like me, then all I can say is you're in for Good News and Bad News.
The Bad News is that your circuit analysis may be so rusty you will question if you ever really did earn an EE degree. Some of it will come back but there's an uncomfortable gap that's appalling!
The Good News is that your software skills will make up for a lot of your other failings and provide much enjoyment!
So have fun!
The one who has the most fun, wins!
@tfmccarthy Thanks! I am having fun, though things are quite working. I posted my problem in the related forum topic.
