Hello all,

I’m Wayne from Leduc Alberta. I stumbled across this amazing site while surfing the web trying to find a DIY variable power/current supply for a Pyrography Burning Pen that I made. I was a bit intimidated by all the knowledge of some of the introductions then I thought to myself hey were all DIY people.

So here’s a little bit about me, in a couple months I will be turning 60, been married for 40 years, 4 children, 4 grandchildren and 4 grand dogs 🙂  I’ve been working for Edmonton Public Schools for 33 years, the first 12 as a Head Custodian and the past 21 years as an IT Tech, I will be retiring this August. Experience prior to EPSB, I managed Restaurant’s, worked in construction, worked in a steel foundry as a pattern maker, worked in furniture manufacturing and cabinet making and a few other jobs. I make solid wood furniture as a hobby and rebuild old tools, table saws, lathes, and so-on. I love working with my hands and tearing things apart to see what makes it work.  I recently rebuilt a few very old wood lathes for people and decided to do one for myself and have joined a wood turning guild and have taken a few wood turning lessons. Going back to the intro, I’m seeking help on how to make a clone of the Canadian made Razertip SK. Being in IT for so many years and doing side jobs I have many, many power supplies from computers, laptops, printers, switches etc.

I will definitely be building a benchtop power supply, the video and instructions are extremely clear and easy to follow, this will come in handy for the Raspberry Pi my kids gave me for Christmas….

Thank you for having me, looking forward to gaining knowledge and sharing what I can.
