I am a life-long electronics hobbyist and wanted to use and learn about micro controllers. I am a beginner at this and like allot of us, I started with the Arduino Uno to get acquainted with micro controllers and C programming. Mostly leaning by example right now. Since these devices are really low cost, I have purchased additional micro controllers like the Arduino Nano, ESP32-WROOM-32D and the ESP32-OLED development boards. I have also purchased a couple of development boards for micro controllers by MicroChip. I am amazed at what you can do with these little devices. I want to get better at programming too. I do have a couple of projects I'm interested in doing in the near future. I'll talk about that later in another post.
@jim_h, Welcome to the forum!
Indeed, there are many of us here for the same reasons as you have expressed, however, there many on here well versed in programming, and project implementation to help you and answer your questions.
It's a pretty diverse group as far as I can see, and a wealth of knowledge between them all..
The main thing here is to learn, have fun, and by all means, be safe! Looking forward to hearing more about projects you may be considering in the near future.
kind regards,

You'll find the bunch here welcoming and all smarty-pants and stuff. Enjoy. 🙂
