I am a 75 YO retired electrical engineer and HAM radio operator (N8VY).

My career was in automation including vehicles, buildings, test equipment, etc.

My interests accumulate over the years.  Young: hiking, backpacking, canoeing, sailing, flying, photography, hunting, fishing, and more.  Old: homesteading, RVing, reading, hobbies in radio, automation, 3D printing, fishing, hiking, photography, and more.

Always interested in science, math, engineering, philosophy, and designing/building stuff.

Currently working with 3D printing, building HAM/QRP equipment and doing HAM radio operations, adding to home-assistant home automation projects, and working 10 acres(4 hectares) of land/gardens.

I have watched many episodes of the workshop on YouTube and learned a lot.

Pleased to join in the community that enjoys it like I do.

Hi Doug/N8VY

Welcome to the community, likewise I'm a 'vintage' guy, saw that on a recent birthday card.

10 acres seems like a lot to me, my backyard is only 40m2 and that's enough! Do you have a farm?

regards

Alan

Welcome Doug, many members have a similar life profile as far as I have judged, so you are in good company.

I note you have an interest in Maths (yes, I'm British) like myself so looking forward to a few mathematical posts and discussions.

Alan;

It is a homestead.  The difference is that I am not commercial.  We just grow for our own consumption.  We did raise animals to eat as well, but not now because we are traveling too much to tend animals.

The big property is nice for antennas too.  And neighbors are over 100M away, so not in your lap.😁  All good.

Best wishes, Doug
