My name is Peter, I'm an almost 80 years old recently retired electrical engineer. I was forced by the communist authorities to flee from my native Hungary more than 40 years ago so I lived with my family in various countries. I worked on projects of extra-high voltage electrical distribution networks, safety control of nuclear power stations and nuclear medical equipment, building custom made devices for the semiconductor industry as an independent contractor, taught engineers in Africa, Europe and Asia. I can say that I have a good knowledge of the laws and maths concerning electrical circuits and planning/building analog and digital electronic devices (modesty is not my forte 😀). During the years I had to familiarize myself with programming computers and MCUs, started with Commodore 64 and Zilog. (Im sure young forum members never ever heard about these fossils.) After retiring my professional/hobby activity is limited to electronics and building different devices using relatively cheap MCU's like Arduino, ESP32 as controllers, cheap parts from Aliexpress and cheap PC boards from China. Even taking into account my many years of experience I'm sure that I can learn a lot from others. I'm looking forward to get ideas, practical tricks, solutions of the many problems I met programming and circuit building. Thanks Bill for accepting me in this forum.

Seems to be a number of older members. I loved my TRS-80 (Z80 machine code) and easy interfacing to hardware. Then the good old C64 again 6502 machine code to control its hardware chips and interface to external hardware. Did a course on analog color TV repair but decided although I had a great interest in electronics it would be only a self-taught hobby.
