Hello everyone,
After retiring, I started looking for ways to stay engaged. Woodworking has long been a creative outlet for me, but as the years go by, wrangling sheet goods and heavy logs has become less practical. That’s led me back to an earlier passion — electronics.
I first got into electronics in high school, and by the mid-1970s I was building microcomputers like the Radio-Electronics Mark-8 and the MITS Altair 8800b. That interest eventually led to a BS in Computer Science, with a focus on operating systems and language structures. Over time, my career pulled me deeper into network design and management, but I’ve always missed the hands-on satisfaction of circuit-level work.
Now I’m returning to my roots — rediscovering electronics with fresh eyes and a healthy respect for how much has changed. I’ll be asking questions, some that I vaguely remember the answers to, and plenty more about Arduino and modern tools that didn’t exist back in the day.
Looking forward to learning from the community and contributing where I can.
