Hello all,
My name is Kevin and I am a software engineer from Minneapolis, MN. My boys (12 & 13) have taken an interest in RC drones and robots, and well.. I love to tinker myself.
We spent the good part of last winter learning about 3D printing on our ANET A8 and making all the necessary upgrades. This has been super helpful with their robot builds and school projects.
A project that have on my backlog is to run Apache Kafka on a Raspberry PI and work out a protocol and API for large volume sensor data collection.

Welcome Kevin and to both your boys as well. I'm sure you'll have a grand time here on the DroneBot Workshop Forum. We have a lot of like minded individuals from all over the world.
I too have a an ANET A8 3D printer and have thoroughly enjoyed doing upgrades and keeping it ticking. There is a thread about 3D printers on the forum and I may have a post there soon as I am trying to resolve and issue that has been giving me trouble for some time now.
Hope to see you on the Forum quite often.
