@datashuttle And there is still the chance it won't work. I would look for some ESP32 code that can communicate with your Bluetooth devices. THAT MAY BE HARDER THAN YOU THINK. The easy part is just sending any data out on WiFi and vice versa.

@zander I'll inquire about a US distributor. If I can find that unit, it may be the answer as long as it's legit, but that kind of shipping cost for a little box is not workable.

@datashuttle I just checked, and it is $72 by UPS with no other choice, PLUS UPS will fast talk you into more charges for any duty plus their fees etc. I HATE UPS, it's either Amazon or USPS.

I would ask them if they have a US distributor/retailer.

@datashuttle I had a quick browse, see some interesting mentions, but you will need to read ALL the details, keeping an eye out for marketing weasel words (remember it's legal in the USA to lie/puff on sales literature)

@datashuttle Maybe, but a similar unit I saw reviewed was close, but lot's of BT stuff didn't work. It's only $41 so go for it. Oh, don't forget it's BLE, not classic BT.

@datashuttle Ok, that is WiFi range or at worst a WiFi extender, easy peasy. The complication is BT. First, there are TWO BTs, classic and BLE and they are NOT compatible. I looked at a bunch of devices claiming to bridge BT (which one?) to Router/WiFi/Lan BUT all of them are proprietary and only work with the manufacturers BT devices. Some work wit Zigbee, so that is a possible avenue of research. I am posting a link from a device that sort of works, HERE and a link to an Arduino forum discussion that will probably work but is a bit complicated HERE Good luck!

@zander Yes, I saw those two videos that Bill did, and were great as usual.

I would like to get the data anywhere my LAN is accessible, mostly around camp. I want to, say, swing from a tree in a hammock 60 feet away and say, gee, I wonder how my batteries are doing. You get the picture.

One of the first things I'm going to look into is some sort of BT to LAN bridge. If I can figure that out, and the water level sensor, I'm in business.
