I live in the Highlands of Scotland where I made my home after leaving the RAF to become a ski instructor in the Cairngorm Mountains in 1976. Here I met my wife (to be) and had to get a real job and so moved to Inverness and back into electronics. I worked for a Metal Detector manufacturer before Joining The National Health Service where I stayed for 28 years specialising in Renal Dialysis equipment. I retired in 2014 to my Garden Shed where I pretend I'm building a Model Railway but really I sit and work with electronics of all types while watching Dronebot and (my other great love) skiing videos.

Thanks for the welcome, sorry about the delay in replying. 🤭
You fly, ski, drink Scotch, golf, wear kilts, married a northern lass and get to listen to pipes?!?!? You lucky wanker. Life can be so unfair for the rest of us... Seriously, I've never seen as green the grass nor met more hospitable people than the Irish & Scots! Welcome.

How fun! Our Garden Shed is already taken by my wife, for, of all things, gardening. So I absconded with our guest room for my lair. In here my main machine is actually a Pi 4, 8GB, which is intentionally NOT connected to any of my pre-retirement software such as client work, bank accounts, IRS archives 😱 and such.
Best luck with your projects!
In theory, theory and practice are the same.
In practice, they're different.
Thanks jbo hang onto the room the shed gets really cold in winter, ask your wife 😀 Thanks for the welcome 👍
