I’m a degreed engineer, but turned in my engineering card years ago to go into management.  In college (in the 80’s), I learned a ton of theory and even though we had labs, I thought the practical design and build side was very lacking.  So I could derive hFE for a theoretical transistor, talk at length about p-doped silicon, and do Bode plots in my sleep, it wasn’t until I worked for a while with a crusty old electronics technician that I realized how much I didn’t learn.  Anyway, I’m now trying to trade in my FORTRAN and assembly language for coding Arduinos and Python.  Really love this site and all the extremely well done videos.

I’m also an avid beekeeper in my spare time.

@beeman

Hello from Stone Mountain!  Welcome, and when you joined I wondered if the moniker "Beeman" was related to beekeeping.  I see now that it does.

We have a lot of fun here with folks from all over the world and with varied backgrounds, as well as all age groups.  The youngest that I've seen is only 15, but that could be that I just don't remember anyone any younger mentioning their age.  And on the other end of the scale I think I remember at least one mentioning 80 or 80+.  I myself will be 74 in about 2 months.
