I'm Terry. Retired from my paying job as an ET in 2012 after 35 years.

Currently a small business owner and enjoy restoring vintage aluminium boats. Out of that hobby came the need for parts so a home foundry was built. I also do cemetery restoration work and genealogy.

When I started, our 'state of art' electronics were TI 7400 series DIP's and we programmed the 4k ferrite core memory with paper tape. Large electro-mechanical equipment that was troubleshot in binary. That was a lot of fun! By retirement it was all modular boards and networked. I've seen a lot of tech come and go.

I've got a small simple project that I think an Adruino would be appropriate for and have never dealt with one so I'm here to learn from the ground up. I have dealt with ABB ladder logic so not totally ignorant to the process.

Thanks for the add to the forum.
