Oooo, Ron must have found a hot number on the island 🙂
Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.

But who was number 1? Ron might not be so keen on his captivity.

I never really understood the show (TV reception on the farm depended on weather conditions), was the numbering/categorization method ever explained ?

A quote from an interview with McGoohan
McGoohan, though, was again more evasive, suggesting that No. 1 was supposed to represent the evil within all of us... hence No. 6 facing down his own deranged doppelgänger.
Now would you want to be held captive with a deranged Ron.
Now would you want to be held captive with a deranged Ron.
Not without my own doppelgänger 🙂

@byron Or am I #1

@byron Deranged? I have documentation to prove ... wait .... I am, yikes!

The obscure quote I often pull out for fun is "I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass... and I'm all out of bubblegum."

@binaryrhyme That's a new one on me for sure.

@binaryrhyme Have you tried another one assuming you have a few, and what do you think of getting it down to 4-5 then add an LDO VR chip, the problem will be how much amperage you want to get out. The AMS1117 produces 800ma with at least a 4.75V input (I would round up a bit to 5) I like combining them when the input is 12V to keep the heat down.
So, some good news. I had two of those converters, and the second one was able to get down to 3.3v, so... manufacturing tolerance / anomaly issue, methinks. Crisis averted. 🙂
One thing I'll say about bootstrapping on the electro-mechanical side... you sure end up buying a lot of bits. Ordered some protoboard to build a small circuit to distribute power to the meters. Had M3 and M2.5 standoffs, but nope - needs M2, lol.
On another note, I used this product as a plastic hole filler (oops!) and in particular as a way to affix the standoffs to the plastic case without drilling holes. Worked like a charm.
