@robo-pi

I think I'm safe here

The coronavirus seems to be locked down

coronavirus

They bought new sani-wipe thingies at work

I was curious to see why they were sold as "food safe", so I read the ingredients on the label

otheringredients

Are they as safe as this new Rat poison I wonder ?

ratpoison

Hmm. I think it would probably be cheaper just to feed the rats a couple of bagels

And now, a word or two to calm you...

There are two times never to be worried...

1. When there's a situation that you can change

2. When there's a situation that you can't change

On #1, well, if you can change it, what are you standing around for ? Stop wasting time worrying, and change it

On #2, if it's a situation you can't change, well, there's nothing you can do, so stop worrying

Who said anything about being worried?  I just saved a hundred bucks on meds!  Now I can buy another Jetson Nano.   What's to worry about?  A person can never have enough Jetson Nanos. 😎

But the doctor did shake my hand.  I told him we aren't supposed to do that and we should be using elbow bumps.  He laughed.

Sounds like a country quack to me.

I can buy another Jetson Nano with the money I saved on meds.  Yippee! 👍

Until they discover a vaccine, a Jetson Nano will protect you as well as anything else. Go for it!!

I thought that all you can catch at Walmart is obesity. I have this picture still indelibly etched in my mind from the first time I ever visited a Walmart store. Two young ladies of apparent African origin, wearing T-shirts and pink Spandex leggings, with a combined weight of over 600lbs, pushing a trolley about twice the size of a European shopping trolley, that was filled to the brim with groceries! I am only guessing here, but I think they had bought a lot of half fat cheddar. Oh the irony, halve the fat content so you can eat twice as much. 🤣 🤣

I think you are still safe for a while, as the urban areas will be hit first. You could ask your Doc on the phone whether he has already seen any Corona victims but his answer may well be, "I don't know as I can't get my hands on the test kits". Isn't that reassuring?

I also think that Kentucky will be a hard nut to crack for the Coronavirus, as everything there is kept inside the family, contagions, sperm etc..  😉 Only moonshine gets out!

And tribal instinct wins over common sense.

A soccer game was played behind closed doors recently. So how did the local fans react to these protective measures?

5000 fans gathered in front of the stadium that they couldn't get into, for the duration of the match!

I am not too sure what the average IQ of a soccer fan is but it doesn't look to be too high 🤔

Does that picture of the ingredients really show three different isotopes of Carbon?

I discovered the "issue" with the pneumonia vaccine. They have two different pneumonia vaccines available.  A low dose one, and a high dose one.  The charged me for the low dose, but gave me the high dose shot.

Low dose shot = $75

High does shot = $250  😮

So I ended up having to pay $175 more.

So there's goes the Jetson Nano.  Boo hoo.

I actually like the idea that I got the more potent shot.    I just hope it actually works to immunize me against pneumonia.  If I do get the corona virus I might have a higher chance of surviving it with pneumonia knocked off the list of complications.   Only time will tell on that one.

In the meantime NVIDIA will need to find someone else to buy another Jetson Nano.  My bank account is shot now.

He told the USA "only 15 cases",
we knew that he was lying,
Now it's all the Europeans fault,
and stopped the people flying!

He told the USA "only 15 cases"

Not meant to send Americans into a panic, but from what the reputable doctors and scientists have been saying we (here in the USA) have only been testing at far below 1%.

This basically means that we need to multiple the number of "known" cases by at least 100, to get a fair guesstimate of how many cases their actually are.

Let's see what that means  for today March 13, 2020:

My state Pennsylvania  = 22 known cases = 2200 or more actual infections.

New York State = 328 known cases = 32,800 or more actual infections.

Florida = 45 known cases = 4500 or more actual infections

Virginia = 17 known cases = 1700 or more actual infections

Illinois = 32 known cases = 3200 or more actual infections

California = 252 known cases = 25,200 or more actual infections

And so on.

And that's probably a "best case" scenario.   The actual numbers are most likely far higher and multiplying exponentially every passing day.

Yes, it's true that we are just now starting social isolation programs by cancelling major events that draw thousands of  people.  That's bound to help to some degree.  Kudos for that.

But still, the horse is already out of the barn.  We don't need to be exposed to thousands of people to contract the virus.  We only need to be exposed to a single person who's carrying it.   In fact, we can even contract it without being directly exposed to anyone.  We can get it from a contaminated surface for example.

Are you using a rag or disposable gloves when you pump your gas?  If not, you are touching a hose nozzle that has already been touched by hundreds of people before you got there!   So there you go.  Just putting gas in your car can be your ticket to become a corona virus statistic.

Not meant to panic anyone.   But if this post causes a few people to use a disposable disinfectant cloth when pumping their gas it will have been a productive post.   Don't touch the pin number keypad directly either.  Use the disposable disinfecting rag to push the buttons.  Then toss the rag in the trash before getting back into your car.

Have a nice day.  And remember, there's nothing to worry about but worry itself. 😊

Unless of course you run out of disinfectant disposable napkins!  Then YIKES!  It's all over.  You'll become a corona virus statistic.  And then we'll have to multiply you by a hundredfold. 😮

From what I understand the virus is going to spread quickly and all that they can do now,  at some economic cost,  is to slow it down (flatten the curve) so as not to overwhelm the medical system and save some lives as a result.

As Boris Johnson stated: "“It is going to spread further and I must level with you, I must level with the British public: many more families are going to lose loved ones before their time.”

Those vulnerable few must take their own measures not to get infected until a vaccine becomes available hopefully within 18 months time.

In Australia those over 70 get their senior flu injections free.

Those vulnerable few must take their own measures not to get infected until a vaccine becomes available hopefully within 18 months time.

The problem is that the "vulnerable few" is actually a LOT of people.  just about every grandparent, and even quite many parents.   As well as younger people who have health issues.   While this number may be just a "few" relative to the entire population, it's actually going to be a large number of people.

And the important point is that those who aren't vulnerable need to also take measures to insure that they don't infect the vulnerable.  Young people who think they are invincible to it may actually be the largest contributors to causing it to spread.

I don't know if you read my post about my cousin.  But he truly believes that he is both invincible to getting it, as well as believing that he can't even become a carrier.  All because he's under the totally false belief that he supposedly has such a strong immune system that he can't even carry the virus.  Any credible doctor will tell us that this isn't the case.  Having a strong immune system does not mean that a person cannot carry the virus or infect other people.

People who believe they are invincible and can't even carry the virus are the most dangerous people of all.  Partly because they won't even bother to do anything to avoid catching the virus, and partly because they refuse to believe that they can even carry it.

And of all the people in the world who think that way, my cousin who lives less than a mile from me, is one of them.  Grrrrrrrrrrr!

And you can't tell him otherwise because he has it in is head that his belief is correct and true.

So now I have to find ways of avoiding him at all cost.   Fortunately he typically doesn't come around much.  We don't have a lot in common.  He hangs out in the bars and I hang out with the Jetson Nanos. 😎  He wouldn't even know what a Jetson Nano is.   Nor could he comprehend it if you tried to explain it to him.

But then what can we expect from someone who thinks they can't catch or carry corona virus?  If he gets it, I hope he survives it.  He's only 2 years younger than me.  And he's a smoker!  He drinks a lot too, but being saturated with alcohol might actually be a blessing in disguise for him.   His body may have actually become a sanitary wipe due to the alcohol content. 🤣

That's hilarious. 🤣 🤣 🤣

Not to worry, they'll be back next year after they have all had their Corona virus vaccines. 👍
