If you plan on using ydlidar make sure you're aware of the installation package  for ros on github oh and the driver package for ros on github and once you get to the most important part you know the one that actually makes it work yeah um the directions completely drop off  and just say enter the parameters for your model how where? Hmm the parameters for my model aren't here .but where? where? Ohhhhh the launch master for ydlidar on github has it  I wish I knew that before hand but not one bit of direction what to start with or what order to do it in .search the web only to find people asking the same question where? How?why?  This is the reason I scrapped the LCD screens and moved the printer over to the panda ! Simply can't get the stuff to work .I think I'm going to junk spinning lidar modules the tf mini fired right up and started giving readings ! That is what I need .everyone might see a camera on top the duce robot next the servo camera from the nano maybe .that's it its going back to amazon!👍😁 the end lol.

@duce-robot

How far have you gotten with the rosserial ?

Cuz that's the point I'm at right now. I connected the hc-sr04 to an arduino nano, got some functional readings, and now I'm working on rosserializing (if that's a word) the arduino nano via i2c to the Jetson Nano so I can test out the publisher/subscriber thingy

I did the rosserial install on the jetson, exported the ros specific libraries from the jetson, and into the arduino IDE, and... got just the slightest bit stuck. It seems to be missing a few bits of the library that are called for in the documentation, specifically, the "ros-lib", the rest seemed to get imported just fine. Lots of stuff to play with there, even the pub/sub thing, which I guess I could just start using, but, I was trying to follow the instructions, which is probably my problem... I should know better than to expect valid instructions from ROS by now

@spyder I put it in one computer but haven't put it in the nano yet because ........ I have to flash another card yes that's right a third card! ! And yes ros_lib I don't think works I didn't get it but I think it will be fine a few things like that happened so far along the way such as only 2 out of three packages in move it loading in and such and now I get to do it all over again  boy ! I could actually start using the first node ydlidar  but its so nondescript on how to install it I just don't know I think the tf mini I have hooked up to an uno will be a good first  roserialization test .once I flash another card I'm going to try it .but I think it will still work even without ros_lib for some reason it just wouldn't download .as for invalid directions github ain't to shabby they'll send you in about 18 different directions to get to the same destination hence the third card.
