I recently checked the price and they are about $260.00 each. You will need two. One for the base station and one for the rover/robot. Considering that other units with the accurate specs that the Sparkfun boards have cost several thousand dollars, this is a good deal. Also Sparkfun has a very good reputation and excellent documentation. You also need GPS antennas for both the base and rover/robot. I believe Sparkfun has an antenna for around $30.00. You are going to need to spend more money for RTK GPS but the cost has come way down so it is more affordable for makers that really want to make use of it. I am just starting in this adventure so was really excited that Bill is working on a similar robot project using RTK GPS. I will be following Bill's new robot project closely.

Hello Bill,

About four years ago I built a four wheeled rover using pixhawk and ardupilot/mission planner. It works ok but was disapointed in inaccuracy of standard gps. I saw you were working on a rover project using among other things, RTK GPS. I am very interested in implementing RTK GPS on my rover so I have revived my rover project as you are working on the same RTK GPS project for your rover also. I have been looking into some RTK GPS modules by Sparkfun using the Ublox ZED-F9P RTK GPS Module. They look very promising and affordable. There are a couple of sites on Youtube that I have been looking at. Thet are as follows:

Sky Horse Tech, Deep South Robotics and RTKLIBEXPLORER

Thought you might want to check them out if you haven't already. Sparkfun has alot of info on their RTK GPS Modules and how to set them up and use them. Needless to say Bill, I am very interested in your lattest robot and especially the RTK GPS portion. Look forward to your updates on your robot using RTK GPS.
