Google is apparently now offering a free service (for the first 40 takers) where they make the chip you design

(story here)

Can't say how long it'll take for the first 40 takers to get taken. But, I know you've done quite a bit of the work designing the chip already. If yer close enough to being done, this might be the way to go

Sounds like a fantastic opportunity.  Unfortunately I'm no where near ready to have a chip built.  I'll be lucky to be that far along by the end of the year.  Also, in this particular case I would prefer to design a "Field Programmable Op-amp Array".  I wonder if the technology they are offering could handle that?

It sounds like they will be doing this again as he had mentioned a second and even third time.   So I'll sign up to obtain all the information this time around and then if they do this again I'll be far more prepared to jump on it quickly.

Thanks for pointing this out.  It does sound extremely exciting.

Yes, it does appear that they will be offering this up multiple times in 2021.

From their PDF:

They are providing completely free of cost chip manufacturing runs: one in November this year, and multiple more in 2021. All open source chip designs qualify, no further strings attached!

Although I don't know what the first 40 applicants means?    Is that for the whole shebang?   Or will they be taking 40 designs each time they do it?

In any case, it's something I'll keep an eye on.

Honestly, neither do I

I actually sent out the link before I even finished reading the story so you'd have as much time as possible to prep for it
