Hello to all dronebot Workshop Members!

I do not purport to be an expert in programming NOR scripting languages (but I do have skills in many of these areas (as do a few other members here which is absolutely great, and I fully welcome their participation), in any of VBScript, Visual Basic, Java, Javascript, DOS Batch Files, C & C++ .NET, tkinter, etc...

As a long time member here, I see that many people struggle with programming languages! Now... that's OK, because we all have to start somewhere, and we all struggle in the beginning - I was no different!!

I'm more than happy to start a topic for people who wish to learn how to program, in any language!

If you are interested to learn how to code, learn how libraries work, and to create your own custom libraries etc... then please share your thoughts, and I will start a topic which I think will be of great benefit and interest to all.

Cheers.

I don't think this is the right place to hold a "learn to program in any language" studio. I think it could swamp out the incoming posts about electronics, so it'd be better to have a teaching session start up on a new URL.

There are already a plethora of other online resources for learning to program in any of the most commonly used languages.

When people ask for help with programming questions here, they're always answered (even if the answer is no).

Anything seems possible when you don't know what you're talking about.

That's a pretty disappointing position to take, to be honest.

It sounds as if though you believe that the coding part of Micro Controllers is insignificant to the hardware of it all, but that couldn't be further from the truth.

There is already a programming forum here, but it is combined with components as well, so not dedicated... and I'm just trying to create a more dedicated resource for those who wish to learn.  I don't see how this is a bad thing.

Aren't we here to learn?

You asked for opinions and I gave mine.

You seem to be implying that I don't think programming is important when almost every project on this forum and the DBWS videos involves a micro-controller that needs a sketch to operate.

I accept you have an opinion, and you are entitled to that - We all have them.
Please be mindful however, that you wrote the following in response to my post:

Is it implying, when this forum is all about learning, and you believe it's not the right place?

Here is what this forum already offers: components & programming

Should we tell members to look elsewhere when there are people here willing to help them with coding?

All I'm trying to do is build some confidence for members to ask questions and learn.
What do you think this forum is here for?

[edit]

I see that your spiteful lying buddy "wanabee" liked your reply.

What's the problem here anyway ?

You posted asking for opinions and I gave you mine, no need to become abusive. End of story.

Please enlighten me!

Sorry, he may not be your buddy, but he definitely lied about me recently... if you have any search experience, you will find that I am right, and then I will expect YOUR apology.

Lets see how much integrity YOU have!

Bye.

No integrity at all... not even willing to check eh?
The joke is on you.  He lied, and you're supporting a lier!

PS: I am reporting him to the DBWS administrator, and I will expect an apology from you too!

When one subscribes to a topic, one gets an email containing the post.  No matter how many times you edit your post, the original is still in various inboxes.   You original, unedited post, from a couple of days ago made very clear your opinion about how many l** w** you think there are on this forum.

And today you continue your offensive remarks.  They have not been directed at me, but nevertheless this behaviour should not be tolerated.

I suggest you just post to help those who actually ask for some help and stop the winging.

You seem to think this forum is a nursery for arguing toddlers, so I give a nursery rhyme to help you sleep soundly.

A sad end to a frog.

A frog he would a wooing go
Whether his mother would let him or no
So off he set with his guru hat
But sad to say he was just a pratt

Pray, Mr Frog will you give us a song
Let it be something thats not very long
So he sang his song, a fairy tail
His croak made it sound a terrible wail

He amended his song so many times
But it was no good, it would not ryme
As he took solace, a drink in his cup
A lily white duck came and gobbled him up

So you support people making up lies about someone, do you?
Where is your integrity?

Facts matter:

On 2021-10-15 4:48 pm -

Getting Started with PlatformIO

I stated that I didn't think his project was that complicated - Just a simple opinion
I was met with an ARROGANT response to that opinion and told to engage my brain

2021-10-16 9:26 am - I questioned his arrogant response to me

2021-10-16 3:25 pm
1) Lied: Saying that I insisted on him apologizing to you and me - I did no such insisting!

2) Lied: Claimed I said the following: "But any way I feel like I am being sucked into a Salad Fingers butchery session and will not reply to any one that seems naff... Thanks awfully .." to someone else - I said no such thing!

That was rudely stated by @mark-bolton (who apologized for those comments) 2021-10-08 3:48 pm - RE: Solar heater for my Garage

These lies were the basis of his arrogant response to me (he confirmed this was engaged in his brain before he commented).

You're welcome.
