Just received this Brochure? Is this an ESP 32?

Is this an ESP 32

No, not an ESP32, but I see there some more arduino pro boards based on different processors, and this is interesting news to me.  I see some are capable of running micro python and Java too.  Very interesting, I will have to investigate.   Its getting rather hard to place all these new Arduino boards and all the others like the teensy boards etc into some sort of perspective.  I should probably just be content to play with those I already have. 😎   It is probably time to investigate the Arduino Pro IDE for development though.

Got that in an email this morning. I tried posting this to their FaceBook page, "Got your Arduino Pro email today and noted that the Arduino Pro IDE was stated to be in beta AND that the link provided resulted in a "404" exception. Also went to github and after searching a bit, found that only v0.0.5-alpha is available. Very disappointing."

I moved this into the Arduino section as it doesn't appear to be a content suggestion (unless it's a way of asking if I would do material on all of the new Arduino boards).

If there is a specific Arduino board you'd like me to examine please elaborate.

If by Arduino Pro, you mean the upcoming new Arduino IDE, John has already stated that it is still in Alpha. Alternate Arduino IDE's, like PlatformIo, have already been suggested and approved and I will be doing a video on them shortly.

@dronebot-workshop - Just got notification from Arduino IDE Developers that the plan for the Arduino Pro IDE is to go to Beta around June, per Luca Cipriani, CIO & Cloud Business Manager at Arduino.

@photo-bud

LOL,  I wonder if they will ever get it into Beta mode, seems to me it's been more than a year now!

Thanks for the update!

I'm beginning to doubt it! (my first post here about it is 8 months old!).

Has anyone tried the new Arduino IDE 2.0 now that it is in Beta? I got the notice that it was finally there a couple of days ago.

If anyone is interested, here is where you can find it. @dronebot-workshop, I thought this would pique your interest.

@photo-bud

The new Arduino IDE has been in beta at least from last May when I last looked at it but I've found that Platform IO works OK for me.  I may have another look when (if) it ever gets out of beta.

Here is a review of the beata from last May:

It may have been available, but I believe it was a limited access until recently (I may be wrong, but then again, I have often been. Just ask my wife! lol). I just recently got the notification from Arduino that it was available.

I want to try the release candidate but I'm not sure if it will mess with the installation of Arduino IDE 1.x.

If we are talking 2.0, I downloaded. It created a second copy and included an open project

I was working on and had not saved. I did have to go back into PC Applications and remove the

original older file.
